SOJOURNERS
DEC. 2, 2022 - FEB. 11, 2023
Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art is pleased to present our winter 2022 exhibition, SOJOURNERS, featuring an extensive roster of our regional and national artist partners.
We are all temporary residents, sojourners destined or directed to other homes or planes of existence. After all, nothing lasts forever. SOJOURNERS will explore the idea of places, people, and things – both real and imagined – in the constant flux of transition and change. Emphasizing the ephemerality of space and time, this exhibition will study the confluence of history and the present, and the travelers who ride that current.
Acting as physical, visual manifestations of transience, the artworks featured in SOJOURNERS will magnify the ways in which each artist’s work communicates the concept of impermanence through the lens of materials, methods, and/or subject matter.
Presenting: Martha Armstrong, Javier Lopez Barbosa, Alex Bernstein, Peter Callas, Luis Coray, Matthew Dibble, Grant Drumheller, Mary Erickson, John Folchi, Larry Horowitz, Kathryn Keller, Michi Meko, David Patchen, Marlene Rose, Greg Siler, Jeong and Choon Yun
