SONYA PFEIFFER

OWNER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Sonya Pfeiffer leads the gallery’s strategic planning and programming.  She is committed to representing artists who create challenging, thought-driven work that addresses relevant issues in our global society. In addition to vibrant commercial solo and group exhibitions and events, Sonya also works on developing meaningful programming that addresses contemporary societal issues and focuses on creating dialogue through art.

Sonya is a practicing civil rights attorney with the Charlotte-based law firm Pfeiffer Rudolf, where her practice is focused on wrongful conviction litigation. She is also a licensed barrister in Ontario, Canada. With a background as an award-winning journalist before starting her law career, Sonya speaks across the country and abroad, and regularly moderates discussions and panels on a variety of topics. She brings a unique perspective to conversations related to the arts, the legal system and public perception of institutions and systems of power.

MORGAN MATHIEU TRAN

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Morgan Mathieu Tran is a devoted arts administrator and advocate, serving artists and patrons in the Charlotte region for ten years in both nonprofit and commercial art realms.

As the Director of SE CLT, Tran oversees the implementation of the gallery’s vision and mission through exhibition and program curation, artist development, and community engagement. Trained as an artist, Tran is dedicated to amplifying and centering artistic voices, strategically advising both creatives and collectors for the advancement of the arts.

Tran earned her Bachelor degree in Visual Art with a minor in Business Administration from Meredith College. She currently serves as the Development Committee Chair on the Board of Directors for Arts For Life, and volunteers with other organizations across the region.

When she isn’t attending art events and curating exhibitions, Morgan can frequently be spotted hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, getting lost in a new book, or creating in her home studio.

JENNIFER KALBERG

GALLERY ASSOCIATE & DIGITAL EXHIBITION CURATOR

Jennifer serves as the Gallery Associate and Digital Exhibition Curator at SE CLT. Both an artist and a designer, Jenn's expertise supports the gallery's mission to serve artists and patrons through a broad and thoughtful digital presence.

Kalberg earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2021, and has freelanced as a designer for several years.

In 2022, she co-curated Of Heaven & Earth, an exhibition exploring humanity's layered existence in relation to the mental, physical, and spiritual realms at Goodyear Arts. That same year, she joined the gallery as their Gallery Associate, bringing her passion for curatorial projects to the team.

In addition to her gallery work, Jennifer maintains an active artist studio in Charlotte, NC.
